Cardboard Cactus

The Supplies You Will Need

scissors / glue / paint / paint brushes / toothpicks / pompoms / some cardboard from a recycled box

Let’s Make A Cardboard Cactus!

First, we need a base for the cactus to stand up. Cut your cardboard into two large flat cactus leaves.
Then cut a slit on one of them from the top to the middle.
Cut a slit on the other piece from the bottom to the middle in the same length.
Make the slits as thick as the side of a cardboard piece.
Then fit them together to create a self-standing 3D cactus.
Cut the rest of cardboard into many shapes of cactus leaves that are smaller than the base cactus. Make your own leaves in different shapes, sizes and numbers. Then cut slits into the bottom of each piece. These make the cardboard cactus leaves connect to each other.
Then paint both sides of every piece green.
Once all the paint is dried, draw some spikes on with bright colors like lighter green, yellow or white. Make your own patterns and wait for them to dry completely.
Now it is time to assemble your cactus. The flat cactus shapes turn into a 3D cactus.
With some glue, insert the toothpicks in the gap between the pieces of cardboard to make it look like spikes.
Add pink or red pompoms with glue to the top of the pieces to look like cactus flowers.
This cactus craft is easy, fun and perfect for decorating your home.
